Jay Metcalf - Founder & CEO
Jay Metcalf is a professional saxophonist, educator, and the creator of BetterSax, a widely acclaimed platform dedicated to helping saxophone players improve their skills and musicianship. With decades of performance and teaching experience, Jay is passionate about making learning the saxophone accessible and enjoyable for players of all levels. Through engaging video tutorials, masterclasses, and innovative instructional materials, he has built a global community of saxophonists. In addition to his educational work, Jay is the driving force behind the BetterSax line of saxophones and accessories. Designed by saxophonists for saxophonists, these instruments and products are crafted with the needs of players in mind, offering exceptional quality and affordability. From beginner-friendly saxophones to professional-grade gear, the BetterSax brand reflects Jay’s commitment to supporting saxophonists at every stage of their musical journey.

Scott Campbell - President & COO
Dr. Scott Campbell is the President & COO of BetterSax, leading operations, finances, product development, and growth for BetterSax. He oversees product lines and global partnerships while continuing to perform and teach. Previously, he was Executive Director of the Fischoff National Chamber Music Association, where he established a Grand Prize winners’ tour, introduced a recording prize, and increased fundraising and organizational processes through modernization. Before that, he was Director of Woodwind Product Management at Conn-Selmer. An accomplished saxophonist, Dr. Campbell has performed globally and served as an artist-clinician for Selmer and Vandoren. He earned his Doctor of Musical Arts in Saxophone Performance from the University of North Texas and is a strong advocate for music education and inspiring future musicians.

Marcy Lyzun - Operations Manager
Marcy Lyzun is the Operations Manager at BetterSax, where she streamlines operations, manages product development projects, trade show planning, vendor relations and shipping logistics, ensuring organizational efficiency and enabling strategic growth. Previously, she spent five years at Conn-Selmer, coordinating woodwind product development, marketing initiatives, artist relations, and sales enablement, contributing to brand visibility and successful product launches. With a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and a strong background in operations and product development within the music industry, Marcy brings a creative edge to workflow optimization and problem-solving at BetterSax.

Will Cui - Global Social Media & Customer Service Coordinator
Will Cui is a saxophonist and content marketing specialist currently serving as the Saxophone Global Social Media and Customer Service Coordinator at BetterSax. With a background in instrumental performance and media production, Will manages global social media content, engages with the saxophone community, and plays a key role in product testing, quality control, and brand development. Will earned a Bachelor’s degree in Saxophone Performance from Brigham Young University of Hawaii, where he led student organizations and performed in multiple orchestras. His work spans live audio production, ensemble management, and educational outreach, combining technical skill with creative storytelling to support saxophonists around the world.

Melissa Campbell - Operations Specialist
Melissa brings a global perspective and a passion for music to the BetterSax team. With an MBA and a background in operations, she makes sure that products and accessories get where they need to be—on time and with care. A lifelong music enthusiast, she’s passionate about making music and music education accessible to everyone. Currently learning the saxophone herself, she’s right at home in the BetterSax community.
