This is the best tenor mouthpiece I’ve ever played! You’ll fall in love with it after the first note. I honestly didn’t think that the hard rubber burnin would be beat, but boy was I wrong! Powerful, edgy, smooth, easy response.

After playing with a hard rubber #5 for many years I really wanted a change in sound and projection. I have searched probably every tenor metal mouthpiece at Sweetwater for weeks trying to decide. They’re a lotta money to roll the dice hoping it’s perfect sound and for my playing abilities.
I thought I had decided on the Otto Link but watched Jay Metcalf’s video comparing pretty much every mouthpiece I was considering. Maybe because it’s his and Jody Sax’s design and build but it projected the sound I was looking for and pulled the trigger.
Wow! Am I glad I did. Like warm butter, from the first few notes. It’s only gotten better as I’ve have gotten used to the lager tip opening. As suggested I dropped from a Vandoren #3 reed and tried the BetterSax #2.5 reed. Plays perfectly in all four octave ranges. It was worth the investment.

I ordered this in 6* and it was visually perfect in every way and you can tell, a very high quality piece. If I played out with a loud band and I wanted / needed to cut through, this would be a great mouthpiece! It is very bright and VERY loud! When I bought it, I thought it would fall somewhere between my metal Link 6* NY and my SK Origin in 7*. It was actually much brighter than both and seemingly twice as loud as both, to the point I thought I would need hearing protection. I play and record my own music at home and although a fantastically made mouthpiece, just wasn’t conducive to what I’m trying to do.

Experienced semi-pro sax player. After using a King Super 20 with an RPC 115b rubber mouthpiece, I sought a metal alternative and chose this 7* piece despite my preference for larger sizes. It’s well-crafted, performs excellently, and includes a ligature. It pairs well with BSS Silver 2.5 reeds, revitalizes my King Silversonic and MK6, and is now my go-to for rock on the 82Z. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a versatile mouthpiece for all styles.
