Bryn Ripley is a versatile, highly skilled saxophonist whose energetic stage presence and technical mastery have drawn fans from around the globe. Boasting a following of more than 100,000 across her social channels and racking up millions of views, Ripley has carved out a notable place in today’s music scene. Through her platform, she’s made it a mission to encourage young girls to take up the saxophone, champion greater gender diversity within the jazz world, and share her own story as a way to inspire the next generation of female musicians.
Over the course of her career, Ripley has performed alongside a remarkable roster of artists, including Jeff Coffin of the Dave Matthews Band, Journey’s Steve Smith, David Paich of Toto, the iconic Earth, Wind & Fire, and actor Zachary Levi (known for Chuck and Tangled), among others. She has also taken her talents on the road internationally as Lead Alto for both the Crescent Super Band and the Osmond Chapman Orchestra, sharing the stage with these groups in front of audiences numbering in the thousands. Beyond performing, Ripley is a committed teacher, having operated a thriving private saxophone studio for eight years, where she shares her expertise and enthusiasm for music with students at every level.
Ripley earned her degree in Commercial Music with an emphasis in Jazz Studies from Brigham Young University, where she studied under the mentorship of acclaimed saxophonist Ray Smith and built her foundation through demanding coursework. Her years at BYU brought several standout moments, among them performing as Lead Alto with the Synthesis ensemble at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City — an appearance that earned her the Outstanding Alto Saxophonist Award and recognized her remarkable talent and commitment to the craft.
These days, Ripley calls Salt Lake City, Utah home, where she lives with her husband and their fittingly named cat, Jazz. She continues to grow her online following, eagerly bringing her love of the saxophone and jazz music to listeners across the world.
