Bryn Ripley is a Los Angeles based saxophonist, recording artist, educator, and content creator recognized for her soulful, expressive tone, energetic stage presence, and modern style rooted in jazz and funk influences. Through her artistry and online presence, Ripley has built a global audience of over 500,000 followers and amassed millions of views worldwide, connecting with listeners and aspiring musicians across the globe.
Over the course of her career, Ripley has toured and performed internationally, sharing the stage with renowned artists including Jeff Coffin of the Dave Matthews Band, Steve Smith of Journey, Eric Marienthal, Francisco Torres, David Paich of Toto, and Zachary Levi, among others. She has also performed with acclaimed ensembles such as the Crescent Super Band and the Osmond Chapman Orchestra, appearing before audiences numbering in the thousands. One of her standout performance moments included opening for Earth, Wind & Fire at the Rose Bowl.
Ripley earned her degree in Commercial Music with an emphasis in Jazz Studies from Brigham Young University, where she studied under acclaimed saxophonist Ray Smith. During her collegiate years, she performed as Lead Alto with the award winning Synthesis ensemble at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City, earning the Outstanding Alto Saxophonist Award for her musicianship and artistry.
In addition to performing and recording, Ripley is a dedicated educator and founder of The Sax Academy, an online global community where aspiring saxophonists receive mentorship in developing their sound, confidence, technique, and creative voice on the instrument.
Ripley recently released her second EP, Prelude to a Grove, a collection of jazz fusion inspired compositions that has garnered hundreds of thousands of streams and led to her being featured as the cover artist for Amazon Music’s “Women of Jazz” playlist. Through both her music and educational platform, Ripley hopes to inspire more women to pick up the saxophone and boldly pursue their passion for music.
