My guest is Donny McCaslin, one of the most exciting saxophone players of our generation. He’s been making incredible music for quite a while now having recorded more than a dozen albums as a leader and several dozen more as a sideman, he is perhaps most well known for his work on David Bowie’s final album Blackstar. In our interview we talk about his latest album, I Want More, and his upcoming tour. We get into where he finds inspiration that fuels his unique sound and style, what he works on with his students at the New England Conservatory of music and the Manhattan school of music, and we also discuss the particular challenges facing young musicians starting their careers today. You can check out more about him here.
