The BEST and WORST sounds on the Roland Aerophone AE-20 Wind Synth

Roland has a new version of their Aerophone wind synth out the AE-20. Once I got the bite settings and key delay adjusted I went through the on board sound patches.

I am a bit of a minimalist when it comes to bringing gear to a gig so I love that there are some good useable sounds built in. The emulators of actual woodwind instruments are still not usable in my opinion and probably never will be.

Surprisingly though, many people who purchase these things expect a good saxophone sound from it.

A wind synth is a synth and should not try to be a saxophone or a trumpet or a flute. It is its own instrument.

What do you think?

I think the Roland Aerophone AE-20 is a good instrument that’s fun to play and well designed. Highly recommend.
